Electric Trace heating has been around for over 40 years for the contol of process pipework temperature and frost protection purposes, and is increasingly becoming  favoured among hospitals, schools and care homes for the control of hot water systems to combat legionella.  Self-regulating Electric trace heating is fitted in physical contact along the length of pipework. It consists of 2 parallel bus wires which carry electricity, encased in a semi-conductor polymer with an outer jacket ofTeflon.
